Our Approach
“Nothing about us without us.”
At OTWorks, we believe that every child deserves the tools to thrive—not just today, but for a lifetime. Our approach is inspired by neuroscience and enriched by the wisdom of the neurodiversity community, creating meaningful pathways toward long-term functional independence, self-identity, self-determination, and authentic connections.
Guided by the neurocomplexity framework, we focus on empowering your child to maximize their strengths and address challenges through their unique interests (Mackereth, 2023).
We blend evidence-based therapy with personalized care, emphasizing both skill-building and fostering a sense of community. Our vision is to empower your child with independence, confidence, and the ability to connect meaningfully with the world around them. Together, we can build a future where every child thrives.

Why Out of Network?
OT Works has made the difficult decision to remain out of network with all medical insurance companies for now. This allows us to uphold our model of care and maintain the autonomy to make informed, evidence-based decisions tailored to each client’s needs. Increasingly, insurance providers attempt to influence care decisions, which undermines this approach.
We are committed to transparency about the challenges within the US healthcare system. The cost of providing care continues to rise exponentially, yet insurance companies reduce reimbursement rates, delay payments, and sometimes fail to pay even after prior approval has been secured. Given these challenges and barriers providing care we will not be in network providers. We will be 100% transparent with our fees, and will have our fee schedule fully published May 1, 2025
Supporting Families with Pre & Post Service Insurance Claims:
We know not all families are able to pay access services without utilizing their insurance. We will be offering direct hands-on support navigating other options to utilize your insurance and HSA benefits for services at OT Works. Dr. Courtney McIntyre, OTD, OTR/L has extensive background in navigating health insurance, and health policy reform. She will be providing virtual office hours the second and fourth Friday of every month from 4-5pm to help families:
Learn how to request out of network exceptions and prior authorization
Learn how to submit superbills to insurance
Appeal denials of service
Answer general insurance questions
Accepting New Patients:
OT Works is currently scheduling new patient evaluation for May 2025.
